Biography

Alex Timm has served as Founder, CEO, and a member of Root’s board of directors since its founding in March 2015. From August 2011 to March 2015, Alex served in various management roles at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, an insurance and financial services company.

He holds a Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts in Actuarial Science, Accounting, and Mathematics from Drake University. Alex is a Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a Henry Crown Fellow of the Aspen Institute, and a member of the American Academy of Actuaries. We believe Alex is qualified to serve on our board of directors due to his perspective and experience as our Founder and CEO, as well as his experience in the insurance industry.
